A Winter Trip To Seattle

This year for our winter vacation we made a not so obvious choice. Everyone thought we would go to Hawaii again but we decided on a trip to Seattle. Was there a particular reason for this choice? Not really.

Seattle does have some history for me because I attended high school in the area after my family moved to the United States. The city has a reputation for being perpetually rainy in the winter but the reality is that it is perpetually cloudy with a chance of rain. The summers, I remember, are always beautiful and “mild”. We decided on a winter trip to Seattle on a whim during the fall.

This was Udo’s first time in Seattle so we did some tourist-y things and not so tourist-y things. There was of course the Space Needle, Pike Place, etc. We also visited my old high school. We took some time to visit the University of Washington campus (future grad school?). We did some shopping and ate seafood (duh). We also went to Centurylink Stadium to watch the Seahawks beat the St. Louis Rams. All in all it was a great trip and I am glad we went. Enjoy our pictures below.

We bought one of these “Stupid Kills” t-shirts from “Shirts for Perverts”. You can see the rest of their hilarious and questionable shirts online.

The Suzzallo Library at the University of Washington made me want to study something immediately.

Farewell Seattle! We flew out on New Year’s Day. It was a clear day with great views of Mount Rainier.
